25th Street Recording Studio in Oakland CA, has got to be one of the most incredible places on the planet to recrod an album. The environment that meets you from the moment you step into the lobby fills you with inspiration, and it’s clear that this studio is used to cut hit albums.

So when John Schimpf, of New Shirt Agency, called me up with a concept to film a commercial for the space, I said yes before even hearing the details. What can I say, the space is beautiful and the opportunity to film in was a real treat. John coordinated with some local musicians to play the rolls and over the course of two days, we shot the heck out of that place.

But even in those two days, I can see why some of the best musicians on the planet chose to record there.

After I had cut the spot, John composed and produced the score to match the beats perfectly and I wrapped up the graphics.
